MEHMET ALİ BÖRTÜCENE

Founder and Chef, The Rabbit Hole

I was born in the steppes of Ankara and left home for England at the age of 18. I studied economics and like it wasn’t enough I got a master’s degree in finance. I never enjoyed my profession as an economist/banker and focused on my interests instead. From the first day of my stay in England I missed my mother’s food so I started cooking by recipes from home. Eventually home cooking and food has become a passion for me. It’s been 20 years since I got into cooking and I became a wanted home cook within friends and family. I like to improvise while cooking. I like to share what I cook with people and I am into food photography. I write about food on The Rabbit Hole blog.

BAÅžAK TURAN SEFEROÄžLU

Chef & Partner, The Rabbit Hole

I am the new The Rabbit Hole Chef!

I was born and raised in Ankara. I became a dietitian but realised that I love to feed people instead of advising them what not to eat! So I went to Le Cordon Bleu London and trained as a chef. I returned to Ankara and worked as a chef in various top restaurants for 10 years. I am specialised in gluten free nutrition and special nutrition habits. I am also a Yoga instructor.

EMEK ATAMAN (Currently in Finland)

Founder & Retired Chef, The Rabbit Hole.

I spent the first half of my life on the fertile lands of Aegean Region and have been living in Ankara for 17 years. After graduating as a city planner, I continued my education on urban studies and politics. Having different interest areas, I worked in various sectors, from interpretation to music industry, from academy to urban planning. My interest in cooking started during my university education. Mimicking my mother and the chefs I saw on TV, I experimented with Turkish cuisine and tried to create meals which are affordable, easy to prepare and delicious. This hobby grew into small dinner parties with friends. And now I’m in The Rabbit Hole to cook you some delicate recipes.
